Auto dialer
An auto dialer is software that dials phone numbers from a list automatically, one after another, so the caller never types a number and only does the talking. Also searched as automatic call dialer, automatic phone dialer or auto calling app: same tool, same category.

Looking for the app itself? RMDialer is an auto dialer app for Android that dials your list from your own SIM.

Autodialer, automatic dialer and auto call dialer meaning
All three are the auto dialer under another name. Autodialer is the word written as one, automatic dialer is the longer form older phone and call centre manuals use, and auto call dialer is how people put it when calling is what they have in mind. Automatic calling is the act itself: the list is worked through by the software rather than by a hand on the keypad.
Is an automatic dialer the same as an auto dialer app?
An auto dialer app is the automatic dialer living on a phone instead of on a call centre server. It dials the list through the SIM in the handset, one number after another, and waits for the caller between calls. The naming question, and which tools carry the "automatic" label, is covered on the automatic call dialer page; the phone app is on the auto dialer app page.
In practice an auto dialer takes over the mechanical layer of a calling day: picking the next lead, placing the call, skipping a busy or switched-off number, queuing it for a retry, and, in the better ones, recording what happened before moving on. The caller sees who is being called, talks, taps an outcome, and the next call starts after a short gap. It never automates the conversation itself; software that plays a recording instead of a person is a robocaller, a different and differently regulated product.
The reason it matters is arithmetic. Finding and typing a number, then deciding whether to make the next call, costs 20 to 30 seconds and a small act of will, a hundred times a day. Removing that moves a telecaller from roughly 60 to 100 manual dials a day to 150 to 250, on the same list and the same hours. The types differ by how many lines they open per agent (power, parallel, predictive) and by where they run: on a cloud platform with virtual numbers, or on an Android phone dialing through its own SIM.
For an Indian sales team calling its own enquiries, the SIM-based kind is usually the honest fit: customers see a real mobile number and answer it, calls cost the ordinary plan rate, and no telephony contract is involved. RMDialer, which we make, is a SIM-based auto dialer app with the lead CRM in the same screen, so the outcome of each call is saved in two taps between calls. The full definition, the four types and the legal position are in the explainer linked below.

| Predictive dialer | A call-centre dialer that rings more numbers than there are free agents, using statistics to predict answer rates. It maximises agent talk time at scale, at the cost of some answered calls meeting silence. |
| SIM-based dialing | Auto dialing that runs on an ordinary Android phone through its own SIM: the customer sees a real local number, calls cost normal operator rates, and no cloud telephony is involved. |
| Dial gap | The configured pause between one call ending and the next dialing in an auto-dial session: 6-10 seconds for real selling, enough to save the outcome and breathe. |
