Call monitoring is usually sold as listening in. With RMDialer, the call monitoring software built on your team's own SIMs, you review the thing that decides the sale: what was agreed.
RMDialer is call monitoring software for teams calling from their own SIMs: every call's time, length, outcome, remark and promised follow-up is captured as it happens, with no supervisor sitting on the line.
- Outcome and remark on every call
- Follow-up compliance
- Any number of branches
- Honest about the limits
- A four-minute weekly review
No live listen-in: that needs cloud telephony, and we say so

What is call monitoring software?
Call monitoring software lets a manager review how a team's calls are handled: what was said, what was agreed, whether the promised follow-up happened, and where a caller needs coaching. Contact-centre platforms do this by routing the voice through their own infrastructure, which is what enables live listening, whisper coaching and recording of every call. RMDialer is call monitoring software of a different shape: the calls stay on each caller's own SIM, so what gets monitored is the complete written record of every call rather than the audio of it, with recordings attached where the phone itself captured them. That covers the counting, the outcomes, the remarks and follow-up compliance in full, and costs about ₹159 per user per month. It does not cover live listen-in, which no SIM-based tool can offer.
- Full coverage of what was agreed and whether it was kept
- Audio only where the phone's own recorder captured it
- No live listen-in: that needs cloud telephony
- Flat ₹159 per user a month, monitoring included
What can you actually monitor when calls go through your team's own SIMs?
Six things, with an honest reach on each. One of them says none, which is the point of putting the table here rather than in the small print.
Tier 1 · Complete
That the call happened
Who dialled, which number, at what time, for how long, connected or not. Collected from the handset itself, so it exists whether or not anybody remembers to log anything.
Tier 2 · Complete
What was agreed
The outcome, the remark, the stage it moved to, the follow-up promised and the message sent afterwards. This is the tier that actually decides sales, and it is the one most monitoring tools treat as an afterthought.
Tier 3 · Partial
The audio of the conversation
Recordings the phone's own dialer made can be attached to the call record afterwards for playback, where the device and the law allow it. Guaranteed capture of every call is a cloud capability, not a SIM one.
Not available · None
Listening to a live call
Live listen-in, whisper coaching and barge-in require the voice path to pass through a platform. On a SIM call it does not, so no SIM-based tool can offer these, whatever the marketing says.
Tier 2 · Complete
Whether the promise was kept
A callback promised for Thursday either rang on Thursday or it did not. Follow-up compliance is measurable without any audio at all, and it correlates with results better than tone-of-voice scoring does.
Tier 1 · Complete
The shape of the day
When calling started, where the gaps fell, whether the afternoon collapsed. Patterns across a week say more about a struggling caller than any single call review will.
What businesses say about RMDialer
Real businesses, real numbers: how owners and sales teams across India and 12+ countries use RMDialer every day.
-
“Collections calling is volume work. The auto dialer clears 250 numbers per executive per day from their own SIM, promise-to-pay dates become reminders, and the daily call report shows connected versus not reachable per person. Talk time per employee ended the "phone was busy all day" excuse.”
Ramesh Pandian Recovery manager · NBFC collections Madurai -
“Telecalling software for a 22-seat domestic process, without buying a dialer server. Each agent gets an assigned queue, sessions run on SIM, and the supervisor dashboard shows calls, connected and talk time per agent in real time. Our cost per seat dropped to a fraction of the cloud dialer we were on.”
Gaurav Tyagi Owner · Small BPO process Noida -
“Employee call tracking without a call centre was exactly the requirement. 12 field executives on their business SIMs, and by evening I have calls, connected, missed and talk time per employee on my phone. Nobody types a report. Two people who were "on calls all day" turned out to be doing 11 calls. Fixed in a week.”
Vikram Reddy Sales head · Solar EPC company Hyderabad -
“Lead management app for our admission counsellors across 3 branches. Every parent enquiry has a status, a remark and a follow-up, and the branch heads see their own funnel. The bulk WhatsApp for the open-day invite went to 900 parents from the app with delivered and read counts. Admissions were up 18% this year.”
Kavita Deshmukh Admissions head · Preschool chain Nagpur -
“Every visa enquiry moves through counselling, documents and filing as lead statuses, and the counsellor's phone rings for each follow-up. What I check daily is the employee call logs report: calls, connected, talk time per counsellor, on my phone. The register we used to maintain is gone.”
Arjun Mehta Branch manager · Immigration consultancy Chandigarh -
“Good telecalling CRM for a small Saudi team. Arabic app, calls from our STC SIMs, and the manager report per employee is what we bought it for. Four stars because I want a desktop app for the manager too, not only the web. Support fixed our SIM selection question the same day.”

What does a supervisor look at on Monday morning?
In this order, and it takes about ten minutes for a desk of six. Audio comes last, and usually not at all.
- 1
Start with follow-up compliance
Which promised callbacks happened on the day they were promised. This is one number per person and it is the fastest signal of a desk drifting.
- 2
Then look at outcome mix
A caller whose outcomes are ninety percent "not interested" is either working a bad list or closing conversations early. The mix tells you which, before you listen to anything.
- 3
Then read remarks, not counts
Ten remarks from one caller show you how they think about customers. This is where coaching actually comes from, and it takes about four minutes.
- 4
Sample audio only where the record disagrees
If the remark says "will confirm Monday" and the stage says lost, that is the call worth hearing. Reviewing recordings at random is how supervisors burn an afternoon and learn nothing.
- 5
Check the numbers, not just the people
Connect rate per calling number, week over week. A single connection sliding is a reputation problem, and it is invisible if you only ever look per person.
What does a disputed order look like without any recording?
A textile exporter in Surat, and the Thursday everybody remembered differently.
A buyer insisted he had been quoted a rate that the exporter's desk said was never offered. No recording existed, because the desk runs on ordinary SIM calls and nobody records everything. What did exist was the call at 4:12pm on the Thursday, six minutes long, the remark the caller wrote immediately afterwards naming the rate actually discussed, the stage moved to "quotation sent", and the WhatsApp that went out four minutes later with the same figure in writing.
That settled it in under a minute, and it settled it better than audio would have, because the message the buyer received carried the number in text rather than requiring anyone to agree on what a recording said. The general point is worth holding on to: for commercial disputes the written trail plus the follow-up message is usually stronger evidence than a recording, and it is available on every call rather than on the subset somebody remembered to capture.
Where audio genuinely wins is conduct, not commerce. If the question is how somebody spoke to a customer, no written record answers it, and a team that needs to answer that question regularly should be looking at a platform that records every call by default.
Call quality monitoring, call audit software: the same weekly review
Contact centres say "quality monitoring", compliance teams say "call audit", and a sales manager just says they want to know how the calls are going. It is one activity: reading back what happened on the phone and deciding what to do about it. The word you use mostly signals whether you arrived from a regulated background or a sales one, and the difference that actually matters is whether you need the audio, which the call tracking page and the coverage table above between them should settle.
You will also see it called call quality monitoring software, call audit software, call monitoring app and sales call monitoring software. They describe the same thing, so whichever phrase brought you here, this is the page for it.
How do you set up call monitoring for a team on their own phones?
- 1
Agree what you are monitoring for
Coaching, dispute cover, or compliance. They need different things, and a team told the real reason cooperates instead of working around it.
- 2
Let the record build itself
Outcomes, remarks and follow-ups captured inside the call, so nobody is filling a quality sheet from memory at 7pm.
- 3
Review weekly, sample rarely
Compliance and outcome mix every week for everyone, audio only for the calls where the written record does not add up.
Call monitoring software: what managers ask first
Updated on
Can I listen to my team's calls live?
Not on SIM calls, and no honest SIM-based tool will tell you otherwise. Live listen-in, whisper coaching and barge-in need the voice path to run through a platform, and on an ordinary mobile call it runs through the carrier instead. If live supervision is a hard requirement, cloud telephony is the right category and Exotel or MyOperator are where to look.
Does call monitoring software have to record every call?
Regulated contact centres generally do capture everything, because their audit obligations demand it. A sales desk usually does not, and the assumption that it must is what pushes small teams into platforms they do not need. RMDialer call monitoring software works from the written record and attaches audio where the phone captured it, rather than requiring universal recording.
What can a supervisor see if there is no audio?
More than most people expect: who called, when, for how long, the outcome chosen, the remark written, the stage the lead moved to, the follow-up promised and whether it happened. In practice a week of that reveals a struggling caller faster than listening to three of their calls does, because it shows the pattern rather than one sample.
Is silent call recording legal in India?
Recording a conversation without the participants being aware of it is the part that creates exposure, and Android itself has progressively closed off silent third-party recording. This is why RMDialer imports recordings the handset's own dialer made rather than recording quietly in the background: the OEM recorder announces itself, which is the behaviour that keeps the practice defensible.
How do I monitor quality without listening to calls?
Score the things the record already holds. Did the promised follow-up happen on time, is the outcome mix plausible, do the remarks show the caller understood what the customer wanted, did the promised WhatsApp go out. Those four are measurable for every call rather than for the two percent a supervisor has time to hear.
Can I grade or score calls?
You can build a scorecard from the structured fields, which is the part that scales: outcome, follow-up kept, stage progression, remark quality. What is not practical on SIM calls is a rubric that depends on hearing every conversation, because the audio coverage is partial by design.
How long should call records be kept?
The written record costs nothing to retain and is worth keeping for the life of the customer relationship, because its value is mostly in context for the next conversation. Audio is different: it is large, it is sensitive, and a shorter retention window with a clear reason is easier to defend than keeping everything forever by default.
What happens when a customer disputes what was said?
The timestamped record usually settles it: the call happened at 4:12pm, lasted six minutes, the caller wrote what was agreed, and a WhatsApp went out afterwards with the same terms in writing. That written trail resolves most disputes without audio, and the message sent after the call is often the strongest single piece of it.
Can I monitor calls made from the phone's own dialer?
Yes. Calls placed outside the app still appear, because the handset's call log is the source, so a caller who dials from their contacts out of habit does not create a blind spot. What those calls lack is the structured outcome, since nobody was prompted for one, and that gap is itself a useful thing for a supervisor to see.
Does monitoring slow the phone down or drain the battery?
It should not, because nothing is streaming. The work is reading the call log and syncing small records, which is a few seconds of activity per call rather than a continuous process. A caller should not be able to tell from the battery that monitoring is switched on.
How do I introduce monitoring without the team resenting it?
Tell them what it is for and show them their own data. Monitoring framed as catching people out gets worked around, usually by dialling from a second phone. Monitoring framed as the thing that stops disputed calls landing on them personally, and that makes a good month visible to the owner, tends to be accepted quickly.
Can I monitor a team spread across several cities?
Location makes no difference, because each handset syncs on its own. A supervisor in one city reads the same view for callers in five others, and the records queue on the handset and upload later where the network is poor, so a branch on a bad connection does not become a hole in the week's data.
What does call monitoring software cost?
Contact-centre platforms price per seat plus telephony, usually from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000 per seat before minutes, because the monitoring is bundled with the voice. SIM-based tools price flat per user: RMDialer is about ₹159 per user per month with the monitoring, the dialer and the CRM in the same figure and no per-minute line underneath it.
Can I export the monitoring data for a compliance audit?
Yes, per call rather than as a summary: caller, number, timestamp, duration, disposition, remark and lead source. Exporting at that grain matters because a summary cannot answer the question an auditor actually asks, which is almost always about one specific call on one specific day.
What is the difference between call monitoring and call tracking?
Tracking answers whether the work happened: how many calls, how long, by whom. Monitoring asks whether it was done well. The two get sold as one product because the same data feeds both, but they are different questions, and a team that only measures the first ends up rewarding volume over outcome. Our employee call tracking page covers the counting side in depth.
