Auto redial
Auto redial is a phone feature or app that calls the same busy number again and again until someone answers, as with railway counters, customer care and booking lines. Different job from an auto dialer, which works through a list of different numbers.

Want an app that does it for you? RMDialer has Auto redial built in, free, with the number of tries, the gap and the ring time in your hands: see the auto redial app page.
Calling a list of different numbers instead of one busy line? That is an auto dialer app, which rings each number once and moves to the next.
How do you turn on automatic redial?
Two ways on Android. Some phone apps have an Auto redial switch in their call settings that retries a busy number a few times. Or install RMDialer, open the number’s Call Details, tap the ⋮ menu and choose Auto redial: pick 3, 5 or 10 tries, a gap of 10, 20 or 30 seconds and how long each try rings, then start. It stops by itself the moment the call is answered.
Auto redial meaning and automatic redial meaning
Auto redial means your phone calls the same number again by itself when the line is busy or nobody picks up, so you do not have to keep pressing call. Automatic redial is the same thing under its longer name, the one phone settings menus tend to use. Each repeat attempt is an auto redial call, and the phone keeps placing them until someone answers or the number of tries runs out.
What does "Redial automatically if the line is busy" mean?
It is a switch in the call settings of some Android phone apps. Turn it on and, when a number gives the busy tone, the phone waits a few seconds and dials it again by itself, a few times over. In Hindi it simply means: लाइन बिज़ी हो तो फ़ोन अपने आप दोबारा कॉल करेगा. If your phone does not have the switch, an auto redial app gives you the same thing with your own number of tries.
Auto radial, auto redail and autoredial: the same auto redial
Auto radial and auto redail are common typing slips for auto redial, and autoredial is the same word written as one. An auto redialer, or re dialer, is the app or setting that does the redialling. Whichever spelling brought you here, the meaning is the one above: one number, called again and again until the line connects.
Auto redial solves one problem: a number that is engaged. The app dials it, hears the busy tone, waits a few seconds, and dials again, for as many attempts as you allow, until the line connects. People use it for railway enquiry lines, customer care queues, ticket counters and any number that is permanently busy. It is a single-number tool and it does its one job well.
The name collides with auto dialer in search results and in app store listings, and the two are opposites in shape. Auto redial hammers one number; an auto dialer moves through a list of different numbers, calling each once and retrying the busy ones later in the session rather than immediately. A telecaller who installs an auto redial app expecting to work a lead list will find a tool that calls the first lead thirty times.
RMDialer, which we make, does both jobs in one app. Auto redial works on one number from its Call Details screen and stops as soon as someone picks up, which is how the app knows the difference between a busy tone and a conversation: it reads the phone’s call log after each try. The auto dialer works on a list, and its "Call again if not answered" setting brings back the numbers that did not pick up, right away, after a few minutes or after the list. The linked post untangles the two ideas for anyone who arrived at the wrong one.
