Picture a pharmacy distributor in Karachi supplying medicine to around 900 chemist shops from two branches, one in Gulshan and one in Saddar. Three callers sit in each branch ringing chemists for the weekly reorder, and the owner sits at head office with a laptop and, until now, two phone calls a day to each branch asking how it went. Nobody could say which chemist had been rung, which had said "call after Friday", and which had quietly moved to another stockist.
On Monday morning she opens the Web CRM in Chrome on the laptop and uploads the reorder list as an Excel file straight from the accounts software.
