Google Sheet Auto Dialer: Dial Straight From a Sheet (Setup)

By · Chief Executive Officer, Wappblaster

In short: Connect the Google Sheet as a live lead source: map name, number and source columns once: and every existing row becomes a dialable lead while new rows keep importing automatically within minutes. The sheet stays the familiar front door your agency and forms already fill; the dialer adds what cells never had: the calling queue, two-tap outcomes, reminders that ring and per-rep reports.

The Google Sheet is where Indian lead-flow already lives: the ad agency writes into it, the website form appends to it, the exhibition list got pasted into it. The instinct to want a Google Sheet auto dialer: dial straight down the rows: is exactly right; the only mistake is doing it by reading the sheet aloud while thumbing numbers. Here is the 15-minute wiring that does it properly.

Step 1: Shape the sheet (once, 3 minutes)

One header row; one lead per row; at minimum name and mobile columns, ideally source and any context worth carrying (city, budget, product interest). The same hygiene rules as Excel imports: no merged cells, and beware numbers mangled into 9.87E+09 by formatting.

Step 2: Connect it as a live source (5 minutes)

In RMDialer’s lead sources, connect the sheet and map columns to fields: extra columns land in custom fields so the caller sees “budget 15L, Andheri” on the call screen. Two settings matter:

  • Source tag per sheet (“FB-agency”, “Expo-2026”): the tag that later proves which channel pays.
  • Dedup by number: a repeat enquirer merges into their existing record with history intact, instead of becoming a stranger again.

From now on the sheet is watched: new rows become leads automatically, within minutes: which is the whole speed-to-lead game your agency-fills-the-sheet workflow was silently losing.

Step 3: Dial the sheet (the good part)

The imported rows are now a filterable list: run it as auto-dial sessions: SIM chosen, gap set, start. Fresh rows surface first; no-answers cycle into retry windows; every call ends in the two-tap outcome and the auto-sent WhatsApp with details.

What flows back (and why the sheet alone could never)

This is the part sheet-lovers should hear honestly: the outcomes do NOT need to flow back into cells, because the sheet was never the right home for them. Statuses, remarks, reminders that ring, per-rep reports: live in the system, visible in app and browser: while the sheet keeps its honest job as the intake pipe everyone already knows how to fill. Demote the sheet; do not delete it.

The three-sheet pattern for teams

Mature setups run parallel connected sheets: agency sheet (ad leads, auto-assigned round-robin), forms sheet (website/QR enquiries), campaign sheet (the season’s pasted list): each with its own source tag, its own conversion numbers at month-end, and one owner per lead from the moment of import. Total setup time for all three: under an hour: after which “the sheet” stops being a place leads wait, and becomes the pipe through which they arrive already ringing.

The setup above is the RMDialer Google Sheet auto dialer: the sheet is connected as a lead source, new rows import by themselves, and the auto dialer calls them from your own SIM.

Questions

Questions people ask about this

Can I auto dial numbers from a Google Sheet?

Yes. Connect the Google Sheet as a live lead source and map the name, number and source columns once. Every existing row becomes a dialable lead, and new rows keep importing automatically within minutes, so the sheet stays the familiar front door while the dialing happens in the app.

Does the Google Sheet keep working after the first import?

That is the point of connecting it rather than uploading it. A one-off upload is a snapshot; a connected sheet keeps polling, so whatever writes into that sheet, whether an ad platform, a portal or your agency, ends up in the dialer without anyone re-importing.

What is an auto dialer app?

An auto dialer app calls a list of phone numbers one after another so the caller never types a number. On Android, an app like RMDialer runs the session on the phone itself using the SIM already in it: you pick a list from Excel, a Google Sheet, an API or assigned leads, press start, and the app dials each number in turn while you mark the outcome between calls.

Does RMDialer work on iPhone?

No. RMDialer is an Android app because iOS does not let a third-party app replace the phone dialer, read the call log or place calls automatically. It supports Android 8.0 and above. The owner's Web CRM works in any browser, including Safari on a Mac or iPhone.

Which is the best auto dialer app for Android in India?

For small and mid-sized Indian teams the best fit is a SIM-based auto dialer that runs on the phones they already own, because customers answer normal mobile numbers and there is no per-minute bill. RMDialer, Runo, GoDial, Calley and NeoDove all offer this; they differ on whether a CRM, WhatsApp automation and team reports are included in the same price.

How much does an auto dialer app cost in India?

SIM-based auto dialer apps in India cost roughly ₹150 to ₹500 per user per month; cloud dialers with virtual numbers start higher and add per-minute charges. RMDialer is ₹159 per user per month on the yearly plan, plus taxes, with the auto dialer, lead CRM, WhatsApp automation, team reports and the Web CRM all included in that one price.

How does an auto dialer work on a mobile phone?

The app becomes the phone's dialer, reads a list you give it and places each call over the SIM the same way you would by hand, only without the typing. After each call it waits a few seconds (the gap you set), shows a two-tap outcome sheet, then dials the next number. Busy and unanswered numbers can be retried automatically at the end of the list.

Can I auto dial numbers from an Excel sheet?

Yes. Save the sheet as Excel or CSV with a mobile number column (name and any other columns are optional), import it in the app, and start a session. The dialer calls the rows in order and lets you mark each outcome. The same works from a Google Sheet, which can also be connected as a live source so new rows import themselves.

What is a good gap between auto-dialled calls?

Five to ten seconds. That is enough to save the outcome of the last call and glance at the next lead's details without breaking rhythm. Set it longer, 15 to 20 seconds, for teams that write a proper remark after every call, and shorter for confirmation or reminder campaigns where the script is fixed.

What is the difference between a power dialer and a predictive dialer?

A power dialer calls one number at a time for one agent and waits for that call to end, so every answered call has a person ready. A predictive dialer calls several numbers at once and connects the ones that answer to whichever agent is free, which needs a call-centre server and causes dropped "silent" calls. Mobile auto dialers like RMDialer are power dialers on a SIM.

Can an auto dialer skip busy numbers and retry later?

Yes. When a number is busy, switched off or not answered, the session marks it and moves on. Those numbers are retried automatically at the end of the list, and anything still unreached stays in the list for the next session, so nobody has to re-import or re-sort the sheet.

Is an auto dialer legal in India?

Yes, for calling your own leads and customers. An auto dialer is only a faster way to place normal SIM calls, so the same rules apply as for manual calls: do not call numbers registered on the national DND list with promotional offers, honour opt-outs, and follow TRAI's rules for commercial communication. Calls to people who enquired with you, existing customers and service calls are routine.

Why do customers not answer calls from virtual numbers?

Because caller ID apps and phone dialers increasingly flag pooled virtual and VoIP numbers as spam or business calls, and because the same virtual number is often used for many campaigns. A real mobile number from a local SIM looks like a person calling, which is why SIM-based dialers report higher connect rates in India.

How many calls should a telecaller make per day?

Between 80 and 150 dialled calls a day is normal for outbound telecalling in India, which usually means 30 to 60 connected conversations. The number matters less than the connect rate and the outcomes saved after each call; an auto dialer removes the dead time between calls so the same person reaches the higher end without working longer.

How can I import leads from Facebook lead ads into a dialer?

Connect the ad account or the Google Sheet that Facebook writes leads into as a lead source. New rows are checked every few minutes, de-duplicated, tagged with the source and assigned to your team, so the enquiry is ringing on a rep's phone within minutes instead of waiting in a spreadsheet until someone exports it.

  • “We looked for telecalling software for a nine-person loan team and every quote came with cloud seats and per-minute bills. RMDialer telecalling software runs on the callers' own Jio SIMs: the lead list dials itself, the remark goes on the number, and I get dials, connects and talk time per caller every evening. Cost is one flat price per user.”

  • “Earlier I was dialling 80 to 100 portal leads a day by hand from Excel. With RMDialer auto dialer app I import the sheet, press start and it calls one by one from my own Jio SIM. • “We tried two telecalling CRM software before this and my counsellors stopped filling them within a week. RMDialer is the phone app itself, so every admission enquiry gets logged whether they like it or not. The auto WhatsApp after call sends the fee structure by itself.
