By SMS, in one tap
Missed calls collect in their own list. Open one, tap Message, pick the “sorry we missed you” text and send it from your SIM. Best for callers who are not on WhatsApp.
Auto SMS after call
You want the customer to get a text the moment the call ends. RMDialer opens your SMS app with the saved message already written and addressed, so it is one tap from your own number. If no tap at all is the goal, the same message can go as an automatic WhatsApp.
Free personal dialer. Paid features include a 3-day trial; no card required.
Team plans: ₹159/user/month, billed yearly + taxes →Short answer
Very few Android apps send SMS by themselves after a call, because Google Play restricts that permission. RMDialer opens your SMS app with the saved message written and addressed the moment the call ends, so the text goes from your own SIM in one tap. For a message with no tap at all, it sends WhatsApp automatically instead.
Key takeaways
Taps, reach and cost
Each route gets a message to the customer after the call. They differ in how many taps it takes, who it reaches and what it costs.
| Route | Taps after the call | Reaches | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| SMS from your own SIM, ready to send | One tap | Any phone, including basic ones | Your mobile plan’s SMS; many Indian plans cap around 100 a day |
| WhatsApp through the Business API | None, sends by itself | People on WhatsApp | Meta’s per-message charge through your provider |
| WhatsApp opened ready to send | One tap | People on WhatsApp | Nothing extra |
| Bulk SMS gateway | None | Any phone | Gateway rates, plus DLT sender and template registration in India |
Why not simply send the text in the background? Two reasons sit outside any one app’s control. Google Play allows only a short list of app types to send SMS without the person pressing send, and an app that asks for that permission without a qualifying reason does not pass review. And in India, texts a business sends in bulk count as commercial SMS: they travel through a registered header and pre-approved DLT templates, which a personal SIM cannot use. A text you send yourself, one at a time, to someone you have just spoken to is ordinary person-to-person messaging, which is why the one-tap route stays on your own number.
An RO water purifier service in Lucknow
Picture a water purifier sales and service business in Lucknow. Half its customers are families booking a filter change; many of the older ones answer on a basic keypad phone with no WhatsApp at all.
After each booking call the technician’s visit is confirmed by text. For customers on WhatsApp, the outgoing-call rule sends the visit time by itself. For the keypad phones, the caller taps Message, picks the saved “visit booked” text with the customer’s name already in it, and presses send. Four seconds, from the business’s own number, which the family recognises when the technician rings the bell.
The service reminder six months later is a follow-up date on the same record, so the next filter change is never left to memory. The details are an illustration, not a named client.
Missed calls
A missed call is the after-call message that matters most, because the customer is waiting. There are two ways to answer it in RMDialer.
Missed calls collect in their own list. Open one, tap Message, pick the “sorry we missed you” text and send it from your SIM. Best for callers who are not on WhatsApp.
Turn on the missed-call rule once and every missed caller gets your WhatsApp by itself, with a cooldown so a person who rings three times gets one message, and quiet hours for the night.
Either message buys a few minutes. The missed list is also the callback queue, so the text is followed by a real conversation rather than standing in for one.
Keep a missed-call text shorter than feels polite. The caller reads it on a lock screen while doing something else, so one sentence that says you saw the call and when you will ring back does more than a paragraph about your business. Sign it with a first name: a text from Ramesh at the shop gets a reply far more often than one from the shop.
The full rules for messages after every kind of call are on the auto WhatsApp message after call page, the no-tap missed-call message on missed call auto WhatsApp, and the callback side on missed call management software. Everything that runs after a call is on post call automation. Ready-made wording for these texts is in WhatsApp auto reply message samples, and most of it works as an SMS too.
Try it with your own workflow
We save your after-call and missed-call texts as templates, then make a test call so you see the SMS open ready to send, and the WhatsApp go by itself.

Compare free and paid features →Not by itself. When the call ends, RMDialer opens your SMS app with the saved message already written, and you tap send. For a text that goes with no tap at all, set the same message as an automatic WhatsApp instead.
Google Play treats SMS sending as a restricted permission and allows it for a short list of uses. Apps that send texts in the background from your SIM also risk your operator flagging the number, which is why most business tools send through a gateway or WhatsApp instead.
Save the message once as a template. After the call, tap Message on the call screen, the call notification or the customer’s card, pick the template, and your SMS app opens addressed to that number with the text filled in. Tap send.
Yes. Variables such as {name} fill from the lead before the SMS app opens, so the customer reads their own name. Photos and files cannot go by SMS, so only the text is added; send those on WhatsApp.
Missed calls sit in their own list in RMDialer. Open one and tap Message to send your saved missed-call text in one tap. If the reply must go out by itself, the missed-call WhatsApp rule sends with no tap while you are busy.
A gateway sends by itself at volume, but in India it needs DLT registration for the sender ID and each template, and texts arrive from a header, not your number. SMS from your own SIM is personal and needs no registration, but each one is a tap.
WhatsApp, when the customer uses it: it can send by itself, carry a brochure or price list, and show you whether it was read. SMS is the fallback for customers on basic phones or without WhatsApp, and it reaches every handset.
One line thanking them, the one thing you promised on the call, and your name. For example: “Thanks for your time, Mr Verma. The service visit is booked for Thursday, 11 am. Ramesh, [Business].” Short texts get read on the lock screen.
RMDialer adds no charge for SMS. The text goes from your own SIM, so your mobile plan pays for it as it would for any message you send by hand.
The call, its outcome and your remark are saved on the lead. The SMS itself is sent from your phone’s messaging app, so it stays in that app’s conversation with the customer.
In India the plan is ₹159 for each user monthly when paid for the year, plus GST; $29 per user per year, or $12 per user for 3 months, outside India. Saved texts, the Message button on calls, automatic WhatsApp and reminders all come with it.
